Busy, Busy, Busy

I’ve been sewing up a storm. My current project is the Emily Jean Wedding, with a wedding gown redesign, a custom designed ceremony bodice for the bride, and eight gowns in four colors for the bridesmaids. We’ve been using Pinterest to communicate visually, and though the bride’s board is secret, the bridesmaid design board is not. Check it out: Emily Jean Bridesmaid Design.

This is my third project using Pinterest to share with a client my design ideas and sample fabrics. The first project was an original bridal design for the lovely Dr. Sara Pitcher Endres, now my son’s wife. It was a secret board until after the wedding, but anyone can see now (Sara Gown Design)!

Also in the cue is a new bridal alteration, first fitting on this coming Saturday, and five crib skirts for Lavender Linens on Etsy..

I’m daydreaming (daydream designing?) as I sew because I have a family wedding to attend in August and the occasion is begging for a new Cindy design. I have three yardages of lace, coral, mint green, and purple which feel like a summer wedding to me.

For now, I’m not about to sit down at my sewing machine, but at my keyboard. I’m also a singer/songwriter and a worship leader. Tonight I will be worshiping with the ladies at Zarephath Christian Church in central New Jersey for their monthly Hearts of Joy meeting. You can check out my latest recording of original songs on Bandcamp, itunes, or CD Baby.Let me know what you think of this singing seamstress!
